Rafi Elbaz
Born in Israel and raised in varios African countries, where he gained expertise in developing and manufacturing Curtain walls. Mr Elbaz moved to Nyc in 1986 and had graduated from Cooper Union School of Architecture in 1995. He later worked with Peter Eisenman, Raymond Abrahams and Joseph Paul Kleihues in Berlin. He is a winner of the first step housing competition and was awarded “jury selection” at the Highline competition where he later collaborated with Studio333 Israel Seinuk Engineers and Office for Urbanism. Elbaz is a finalist at National Sustainable leadership award for his extensive work with the community and creating sustainable habitats. His work was exhibited at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, The Ps1/ Moma The Urban Center, The Center for Architecture NYC and other venues. He is an adjunct professor at Pratt Institute, and has been a visiting critic at various universities. Elbaz’s work have been widely covered in the US and international media including New York Times, Washington post, Architects Newspaper, Metropolis magazzine and more. Sam Leung is an architect, born and raised in Canada. She studied Economics and Mathematics at Waterloo University, and later graduated with a Bachelor of Environmental Design and Master of Architecture from Dalhousie University. She has gained her experience in the award-winning offices of Franklin D. Israel design associates, Smith-Miller + Hawkinson, and Hanrahan Meyers architects. Later, she founded her own practice, SL Design, specializing in commercial interiors and residential design and developments. In 2004, together with Shawn Rickenbaker, she established Rickenbacker + Leung, an architectural design firm committed to social and cultural implications as well as construction techniques and technologies as a means of realizing the goals and aspirations of a project. Sam brings over 14 years of design and project conception to construction administration. She has served as visiting critic at Syracuse University and teaches at the Pratt Institute School of Architecture. Sam Leung is a licensed architect in New York State, New Jersey and accredited under the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).


Shawn Rickenbacker, a native of New York City, received his Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University. As the Dupont Scholar in Architecture recipient, he earned his Master of Architecture from the University of Virginia and was awarded the Carlo Pellicia Travel Fellowship Award for Excellence in Architectural Design. He worked for Polshek Partnership on numerous projects most notably the Seaman’s Church Institute and the Skirball Institute of Biomolecular Medicine and Residence Tower. He also gained experience from the offices of Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn Architects and Agrest Gandelsonas. As founder of Rickenbacker + Leung, a architectural design firm set out to provide intelligent and innovative work, he brings 16 years of experience alongside research on contemporary urbanism and has written numerous articles for international design journals. He has served as professor of Architectural Design at The Ohio State University, visiting critic at Syracuse University and continues to teach as Professor of Architectural Desing at the Univeristy of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Design.

Selim Vural is an architect with a Master of Architecture degree from Pratt Institute  in 1996 .  After his graduation he started his employment with Eisenman Architects. During his employment he worked on prominent international competitions such as Musee Quai Branly in Paris and City of Culture in Santiago. He also taught architectural studio classes at NYIT, University of Arkansas and RPI for 6 semesters. Mr. Vural later on acquired practical experience with prominent firms such as SOM and Swanke Hayden Connell Architects. During his employment with Swanke Hayden Connell, he worked on retail and office projects in Moscow. Mr. Vural  won awards in Acadia 2007 Conference with his Iceberg project which has been published twice since then.
